Sickle Senna / Cassia Tora (jue ming zi) 決明子

NATURE:

Cold; bitter and sweet and slightly salty; attributive to liver and gallbladder.

CHARACTERISTICS:

Seeds of an annual herb that are round and brown. The herb can be used externally as a paste onto the temples as a remedy for eye problems.

THERAPEUTIC EFFECTS:

Clear away liver-fire and improve vision; lower blood pressure; lower blood-fats and relax bowels for chronic constipation
