Chinese Cornbind / Polygonum Multiflorum (ho shou wu) 何首烏

NATURE:

Warm; bitter and sour; attributive to liver and kidneys.

CHARACTERISTICS:

Tuberous roots of a perennial herb, sold in flat, irregular pieces with a reddish brown color. It is a superior herb, contains no toxin and is an effective remedy for high blood pressure and arteriosclerosis.

THERAPEUTIC EFFECTS:

Strengthen sinews and bone; promote male and female fertility; darken gray hair; build bone marrow; demulcent to bowels; anti-rheumatic; tonify liver and kidney energy; expels wind-dampness.

INDICATION:

Dizziness; insomnia; abdominal pain after childbirth; anemia; constipation due to dry bowels; premature gray hair.
