NATURE:

Warm; sweet and bitter; attributive to spleen and stomach.

CHARACTERISTICS:

The root-like stems of the wild perennial, a superior herb commonly used in Chinese medicine.

THERAPEUTIC EFFECTS:

Invigorate the spleen and benefit vital energy; for poor appetite, loose stools, fatigue, cold limbs; deprive dampness and promote diuresis for edema, night sweat, stagnant water in the stomach; stop vomiting in pregnancy and soothe unstable fetus.
