Dogwood Tree / Cornus Officinalis (shan zhu yu) 山茱萸

NATURE:

Slightly warm, sour, attributive to kidneys and liver.

CHARACTERISTICS:

The fruit of a large, thorny, deciduous shrub that bears white flowers and purple-red fruits. It is a general drug highly astringent.

THERAPEUTIC EFFECTS:

Control involuntary ejaculation as well as urinary incontinence and retard profuse perspiration; nourish semen-essence; tonify kidney and liver. Suitable for impotence; spermatorrhea; vertigo; night sweats and profuse perspiration; lumbago; frequent and incontinent urination; blurry vision and headaches due to liver disorders; empty kidney energy and deficient liver energy.
