Vicky Chan, the founder of Foods 'n' Herbs, came to realize her newfound
life mission in promoting Chinese Food Therapy after experiencing a close call
with cancer a few years ago. The sudden discovery of an enormous ovarian tumor
interrupted her lifelong career in IT and management consulting. Against all the doctors'
predictions of the worst, the tumor turned out to be benign and she came out
of the crisis with no lasting effect to her health.
Vicky was back on the hiking trail shortly after the
operation.
Vicky’s remarkable recovery made her aware of what a great advantage she
had because of her knowledge of Chinese Food Therapy. It’s believed it was
her diet that made the difference. It is unclear what triggered the abnormal
cell to explode, but what is clear is that it was contained without affecting
other healthy cells. Vicky vowed to repay her good fortune by sharing her
knowledge of healthy eating with other people, particularly North Americans
who have one of the worst diets and health.
Vicky has spent the last two years in researching and translating
information on Chinese Food Therapy so that it can be easily understood by
westerners. Her website provides free information and practical advice on
eating purposely for health.
Vicky’s next goal is to open her own medicinal food restaurants to serve
the general public with the most common health problems. She is hoping that
her pioneering effort in bringing the best of the Chinese food culture to the
west could benefit more people.
